NBA Christmas Day Sneaker Recap
Yesterday five NBA games were filled with much excitement and it was taken to even new levels when we got a look at the Christmas-inspired footwear worn by several athletes. We were treated to a number of surprise sneaker designs and here we get a recap of what was worn on Christmas Day.
We start off with the first game that took place between the Celtics and Nets at Brooklyn's Barclays Center. Boston point guard Rajon Rondo has brought out impressive footwear all season long and yesterday he took things up a notch as he debuted a pair of Christmas Air Max Hyperposites. Nets point guard Deron Williams didn't wear and holiday kicks but he balled out in the Orlando Penny 5's once again.
Taking things to the much anticipated Knicks/Lakers game in L.A. saw a number of Christmas-inspired sneakers, including signature footwear from superstars Kobe Bryant and Carmelo Anthony. Both players wore their respective signature models in Christmas form. Lakers power forward Pau Gasol even got in the holiday spirit with a pair of Lunar Hyperdunks coming in metallic silver form with green and red accents.
Moving to the equally-anticipated rematch of last season's NBA Finals, we saw the likes of Heat teammates LeBron James and Dwyane Wade bring out their Christmas signature silhouettes in the LeBron X and Li-Ning Way of Wade, respectively. Ray Allen stole the show once again as he brought out a pair of Air Jordan 18's in a red/green version, showing he still pulls rank when it comes to PEs. Thunder teammates Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook didn't disappoint either as KD laced up his Christmas joints while Russ went with a new "Blue Camo" colorway of the Air Jordan XX8.
The last game of the night also took place in Los Angeles, this time with the Clippers being the home team. They played host to the Denver Nuggets and Clippers teammates and fellow Jordan Brand athletes Blake Griffin and Chris Paul showed off their holiday kicks as well. Blake laced up the Jordan Super.Fly in Christmas form while Paul went with his Jordan CP3.IV in a similar styling, capping off a great day of games on December 25th.
